12.02.06 A recent survey of all 32 known websites run by resorts in Mui Ne showed that most follow safe practices in regard to online reservations. In fact, most do not require credit card information at all in order to make tentative online reservations. However, we found that at least 5 resorts accept credit card information over unsecured connections; which may put your financial information at risk.
How do you know if a site is safe? Whenever a credit card or other vital information is requested on a page, the address in your browser should begin with "https". Basically, that extra "s" tells both the remote server and your browser to encrypt the information sent back and forth; protecting it so it can not be intercepted by hackers. Its OK if most of the site's page addresses begin with "http", but if the page requiring sensitive information doesn't start with "https" then it is best not to submit the information.
Pandanus and Novotel are the only 2 resorts we surveyed which protect submitted credit card information with a secure, encrypted connection on their websites.
MuiNeBeach.net is an affiliate of Precision Reservations, which is a third-party company. We offer online reservations and resort listings in cooperation with Precision, for many of the top resorts in Mui Ne. Precision offers encrypted connections for your financial security.
